About Us |
|
· The Bible: We believe that the Bible, composed of the Old and New Testaments, is inspired of God, and is of supreme and final authority in faith and life. (II Timothy 3:15-17) · Trinity: We believe there is but one true and living God, Creator of the heaven and earth, infinitely wise, just and Holy; and that He externally exists and manifests Himself to us in three persons; the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ) and the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1; John 4:24, 10:30) · Virgin Birth: We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ; that He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. (Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:35) · Salvation: We believe that man is totally unable to save himself because of his sinful nature and his guilt in the original sin of Adam. All men, therefore, deserve eternal punishment. We further believe that God, who is rich in mercy, sent His only Son to be our Savior; for the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood; and furthermore, are eternally saved, in the light of the perfect, finished work of Christ. (John 3:36, 10:28-29, Romans 3:23, 4:5, 4:24, 5:12, 5:21, 6:23; I Corinthians 15:3-4) · Christ's Resurrection: We believe in the bodily resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, that He ascended into Heaven, and is now seated at the right of the Father; and that He ever lives to make intercession of all who come to God by Him. (John 11:25; Acts 1:3, 11; Ephesians 1:20-21; Hebrews 1:3, 4:14, 7:25) · The Church: We believe that the true or invisible Church is the body of Christ; and that each one who accepts the Lord Jesus Christ as his or her personal Savior is a member of that body, and is indwelled by the Holy Spirit. We further believe that the local church is a body of professed believers in Christ, baptized upon a credible profession of faith, who have covenanted together for the worship, for mutual edification, and to work for the spread of the Gospel throughout the world. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:41-42; Romans 8:9;I Corinthians 6:19-20, 12:12-38) · Baptism: We believe that baptism is the immersion of a believer in water, in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. We believe that baptism is a symbol of the redemption of the believer through faith in death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It further commemorates the personal experience of the believer's death to sin and resurrection to newness of life in Christ. (Matthew 3:15-16; Acts 2:1, 8:38-39; Romans 6:3-5) · The Lord's Supper: The Lord's Supper or communion, is the highest act of worship. It consists of eating of the bread and drinking of the cup. It is a memorial of Christ's death for us and a symbol of His sustaining of our Spiritual life and growth. Both ordinances are commanded by Christ and should be faithfully observed by His believers until He comes. (I Corinthians 11:17-34) · Christ's Return: We believe that Christ may at any time return in the air to rapture the saints, and that there shall be then a tribulation period, after which He will come to earth with His saints, and rule for a thousand years. After this, the wicked will be judged and cast into the lake of fire. (Matthew 24:15-31; I Corinthians 15:51-57; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:1-6, 10-15) · Satan: We believe that Satan is a person, the author of the fall, and that he shall be eternally punished. (Genesis 3:1-18; Job 1:7; Revelation 20:11-15) · Final Judgment: We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, both the just and the unjust; and in the eternal conscious punishment of the unsaved, and the eternal joy of the saved. (Matthew 25:26; Revelation 20:11-15) · Spiritual Gifts: We believe that God is sovereign in the bestowment of all His gifts; and that the gifts of evangelists, pastors, and teachers are sufficient for the perfecting of the saints today; and that speaking in tongues and the working of sign miracles gradually ceased as the New Testament scriptures were completed and their authority became established (Romans 12:6-8; I Corinthians 12:4-11: Ephesians 4:7-12) |
